Salford Bin Depot - Main Switch Panel Upgrade
The Challenge
Kenza Electrical completed a major electrical upgrade at a bin depot in Salford.
Before starting work, the existing switch panel needed to be professionally tested for asbestos before it could be safely removed. The installation also contained outdated switchgear and required upgrading to improve safety, reliability and future maintenance.
The Solution
Once the results confirmed it was safe to proceed, we carefully decommissioned and removed the outdated switchgear.
All existing cables that remained in service and supplied the wider compound were identified, relocated and reterminated into the new, modern mains panel.
We also rewired the electrical room and installed a new consumer unit complete with surge protection, helping bring the installation in line with current electrical regulations.
The Result
The result is a safer, cleaner and more reliable electrical installation that will be easier to maintain and manage in the future.
